GENERAL SERVICES MODEL ROOM

   

OBJECTIVES

To appreciate and understand basic working principles of air conditioning cycles, centrifugal and submersible pumps, economic and appropriate application of illumination as well as system of general electric supply and distribution networks.

To acquire the skill in joints and termination of electric supply and distribution system by using different process as heat sink, crimping etc.

To illustrate the IS for acceptance test for various house wiring components.

 

LIST OF FACILITIES / WORKING MODELS AND CUT MODELS AVAILABLE 

  1. Air conditioning "tutor " for demonstration of Air Conditioning cycle.
  2. Cut model for centrifugal and submersible pump to understand different components like impeller, volute casing, suction delivery passage, packing / glands, bearing and pump- motor alignment.
  3. Display measurement and comparison of starting voltage, power factor, energy consumed, efficacy of illumination on electronic and magnetic ballast for discharge lamps.
  4. Model of small distribution transformer for demonstration of maintenance activity in scheduled maintenance as well as their importance to prevent failure.
  5. BDV tester for transformer oil, to demonstrate testing facility.
  6. Working model of room air conditioner to demonstrate checks in schedule maintenance.
  7. Display of various crimping joints and terminations of low and medium voltage, and distribution cables with ''do'' and "do not " instructions.
  8. Practical demonstration kit for IS 1293 for acceptance test on sockets used in house wiring.
  9. Practical demonstration kit to display effect of bad joints by measuring milli volt drop.
  10. Glow-check florescent test for detection of deep penetrated crack on small vital components.
