TRAIN LIGHTING MODEL ROOM
Train Lighting laboratory is equipped with cut models of valve regulated lead acid (VRLA) and conventional batteries. Typical failed components of train lighting system, different types of light fittings, fans etc. are used to train the officers in the functioning of important equipments. Testing facility for measurement of airflow of fans has been developed. Full exposure on construction and principles of working of batteries in Train Lighting system is given to trainee officers with the help of cut sections of batteries in the model room. Different types of light fittings, carriage fans (including brushless dc type) and other components are kept in the laboratory to have a clear picture about the functioning of Train Lighting system. Testing facilities to determine airflow of carriage fans has also been developed. AIR CONDITION COACH MODEL ROOM Working model showing functioning of conventional Air condition coach system as well as roof mounted package unit have been set up in the model room. In fact all the actual equipment of the original systems have been used for developing the models. A test bed with VVVF control drive has been set up to test the alternators over their complete working range. In short complete coach air condition system is available in the model for giving overall view of the system. Coach air-conditioning laboratory is equipped with complete system of roof mounted air-conditioning package unit along with 25KVA inverter, 800 AH lead acid battery and, 18 KW alternator along with regulator. The complete system is integrated with a fabricated coach. In addition to this, End-On-Generation (EOG) type under slung air-conditioning plant is also provided in air-conditioning model room.
